Estiu

Don't really like the dead hamster over her shoulder,
but love the white cotton dress.
It has texture and personality, looks like a huge parachute

funny seethrough dress

I like the word estiu.
It is a Catalan word which comes from Latin, means summer.
Reminds me of my childhood in Majorca, when my concerns were based on whether the cabin we had assembled in the woods would survive the storm, who would go to the swimming pool the next day or if I had left the bike in the backyard before going to bed...

The teacher used to ask us in early June, -Quins plans teniu per aquest estiu?- (Which plans do you have for this summer?)
And our thoughts would
head to the freedom of summer, riding our bikes through the endless afternoons in our almost deserted streets. The days were hot but the breeze of the cliff was always there, and the seagulls reminded us where we were if for some reason we were in an area that overlooked the vast Mediterranean Sea.

I always loved summer above all things.
